EZ Dock modular floating docks have been transforming waterfront properties for more than 25 years. We’ve designed and constructed these products to withstand the most challenging conditions and elements in freshwater and saltwater environments and help property owners enjoy maximum long-term value.
Our floating dock systems are also easy to assemble and install. Follow this step-by-step process to achieve the best results for your project!
1. Acquire Materials
You can assemble a floating dock with a few basic tools and supplies, many of which you may already have. The task will require a hammer or mallet, a drill with a 5/16-inch bit, some wrenches (Allen, 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch), and 3-inch Allen and 1-inch set bolts.
2. Connect Sections
The modular floating dock design consists of multiple sections you can connect easily. You can assemble the dock by aligning and stacking the tabs in order. Begin by pivoting the middle section toward the bow section on the port side while ensuring that the tabs’ holes overlap. Secure the tabs by installing and tightening fasteners.
Next, pivot the bow starboard corner of the middle section into the bow section while stacking the tabs in the appropriate sequence. Insert spacers to account for any extra room between tabs.
3. Insert Pins
Your floating dock kit includes pins for securing the connections. Insert them by placing the assembly key’s handle into the second opening from the port side. Use this handle as a lever to force the dock sections together, enabling you to insert the pin into the first port side opening. Lock the pin using the assembly key. Follow this procedure for the remaining pins.
4. Secure Tabs, Pins and Couplers
Use fasteners to secure the three remaining tab locations and connect additional sections if applicable.
5. Launch Your Dock
After you assemble the floating dock, you’re ready to launch it into the water using a winch-assist system. Before launching, attach at least two safety lines to the dock and make sure to position the winch’s handle over the dock surface.
6. Moor Your Dock System
You can moor your floating dock by connecting it to a fixed dock, seawall or bulkhead, or a floating pier. Otherwise, you can install a stand-alone structure.
